This flexible online offer introduces employees to EDI topics and how to work inclusively with others. It is designed to be an ideal onboarding offer but could be used well to launch your inclusion strategy.
Delivered by expert facilitators so we can respond to concerns and questions and correct misconceptions, we use interactive tools to ensure everyone is engaged.
Intro to EDI Workshops
“The tips on how to ensure we are being inclusionary were useful.”
“The section on microaggressions was incredibly helpful and important - I'm glad that I was able to challenge myself in a safe way.”
What does Intro to EDI cover?
✓ A clear understanding of what EDI means and other themes such as access and belonging
✓ Ensures people know the fundamental principles of equity, diversity and inclusion
✓ Up to date language related to protected characteristics
✓ We explore how our own identities influence our decision making and how we engage with others
✓ Introduce the barriers that some individuals and groups of people experience because of their identities
✓ Understand how different identities can intersect
✓ Identify inclusive behaviours to help us create safe and welcoming environments
✓ Q&A
How is it delivered?
✓ It is delivered online
✓ We use interactive tools to ensure everyone is engaged
✓ We structure the session to ensure those who are neurodiverse can engage fully and be supported
✓ Delivered by expert facilitators so we can respond to concerns and questions and correct misconceptions
✓ There are opportunities for group discussion and personal reflection
What does it solve?
✓ We want to onboard our people well and understand that EDI should be a part of this, but don’t know the best way to do it
✓ Online courses go out of date quickly which can mean our people don’t have the knowledge and understanding we intended them to have
✓ Online courses are flexible but how do we know our people have engaged with them?
✓ In person delivery is very expensive and can present us with challenges in terms of space and flexibility for people to attend
What doesn’t it do?
✓ It doesn’t provide nuanced and detailed input on protected characteristics. Attendees should not expect to know about antiracism, LGBTQ+ or disability topics in depth. It offers a high-level introduction but for real depth of understanding attendees will need separate training on these topics
“Very clear and inspiring that there is such comprehensive and considerate work in this field- thank you!”
“Thank you so much you were brilliant!!”
